Lawsuit Filed Against US Attorney General Eric Holder

A lawsuit has been filed against U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder by the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) on behalf of three Michigan pastors. This lawsuit challenges the constitutionality of the new federal “Hate Crimes Act.” The act creates greater federal protections for a certain class of persons who engage in unnatural sexual behavior. It sets the precedent for providing one group of people with greater protection under the law than other groups. This establishes a policy of providing unequal treatment for certain citizens under the laws of our country.

Another problem is that this law criminalizes those who speak out against homosexual behavior based on Biblical principles. Therefore, the Hate Crimes Act” is a violation the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion as protected by the First Amendment to the US Constitution. Since this act ignores the Constitution, what standards will government officials use to determine which of your expressed thoughts or actions are criminal and which are not?
